Christopher Pignato is an Associate at Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts LLP. His experience includes drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications and negotiating licensing agreements. Mr. Pignato specializes in a broad spectrum of technologies including pharmaceuticals, small molecules, biomolecular formulations, gene therapy, PK/PD modeling, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical devices, nanotechnology, molecular biology, immunology, process chemistry, clean energy including desulfurization technology and consumer devices.
Mr. Pignato has extensive experience with a variety of intellectual property issues including matters regarding patentability, freedom to operate, due diligence, non-infringement and invalidity. He has experience representing clients of various sizes and IP portfolios, including large and small corporations, startups and individual inventors.
Prior to joining Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts, Mr. Pignato was a laboratory technician at the University at Buffalo. During his time as a technician, he focused on research and clinical applications of monoclonial anti-bodies, specifically the effects of natalizumab on relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.
Mr. Pignato received his J.D. from Albany Law School in 2012 where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received the Intellectual Property Award. He earned his B.S. in pharmaceutical science from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Mr. Pignato received his B.S. Magna Cum Laude in 2009 and was the recipient of the 2009 David Guttman award for excellence in physical pharmacy and pharmaceutical analysis.
