Jared DuJack is a registered patent attorney and Associate at Schmeiser, Olsen & Watts LLP. He is admitted to practice in New York State, and before the Northern District of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Jared has experience in patent and trademark prosecution for a variety of clients, including US and foreign applicants and inventors. He has prosecuted applications in the technical areas of pharmaceuticals, biochemistry, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and other chemical applications, in addition to various mechanical and computer-related applications. Jared also assists clients with all aspects of portfolio management and counseling, such as licensing negotiations and infringement/validity opinions.
As part of Schmeiser, Olsen and Watts’ litigation team, Jared has represented clients in patent infringement, copyright infringement, and trade secret misappropriation cases in federal district court. He also has experience defending patents against inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Jared graduated from Albany Law School in 2014, earning his Juris Doctor summa cum laude while also completing a concentration in intellectual property with honors. He received his undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences magna cum laude from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where he assisted the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in researching vitamin D3 up-regulated protein 1 tumor suppressor regulation.
While at Albany Law School, Jared served as an Executive Editor for Notes and Comments on the Albany Law Review and was a research assistant for Distinguished Professor Emeritus David D. Siegel. Jared also served as the Treasurer of the Intellectual Property Law Society.
