Robert A. Sabourin, a registered patent attorney and Of Counsel at Schmieser, Olsen, & Watts, focuses his practice in the area of intellectually property. While specializing in patent preparation and prosecution, Mr. Sabourin’s expertise spans across a wide range of various different areas of technology. These various areas include computer hardware & software, systems engineering, electrical engineering, optical engineering, as well as as mechanical engineering.
Before joining the firm, Robert served as Patent Counsel for the Agfa Corporation for ten years (1998-2008). While serving in this position, Robert handled all aspects of Intellectual Property include patent and trademark prosecution, legal opinions, litigation support, licensing, acquisition, divestitures, consulting and portfolio management. Robert also has notable law firm and corporation experience in both Boston, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.
With his diverse background in multiple technical disciplines, and pertinent career experience, Robert better serves his clients by providing insightful knowledge regarding intellectual property and trademark law that he has acquired over a long career.
Robert graduated from the Franklin Pierce Law Center, earning his Juris Doctor in 1992. Robert also graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1982, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering.
